LaserVision Victoria offers two of the most advanced laser technology platforms available for vision correction procedures, the Schwind AMARIS 1050RS Excimer Laser and the ALCON LenSx Femtosecond Laser.
The Schwind AMARIS 1050RS Excimer laser is the fastest and most sophisticated laser in the Amaris range. The innovative laser system delivers a repetition rate of 1050 Hz, minimising the time it takes to correct your vision utilising Schwind’s SmartPulse technology, our laser offers accelerated visual acuity recovery following your treatment. To ensure precise and safe treatments, the Amaris 1050 RS has an extremely effective eye tracker, which monitors the position of the eyes 1050 times per second and compensates for any involuntary eye movements. The Amaris 1050RS is used to perform LASIK, PRK and TransPRK – Schwind’s new “no touch” laser procedure SmartSurfACE.
Alcon’s LenSx femtosecond laser is the world leading platform for laser assisted cataract surgery. The LenSx laser also incorporates flap making technology which is used in refractive surgery for creation of the LASIK flap.
This highly accurate laser creates a very thin uniform LASIK flap which is then gently lifted to expose the underlying corneal tissue for laser vision correction. Once completed the LASIK flap is carefully re-positioned and heals without the need for any sutures. Given the minimal disturbance to the surface of the eye, LASIK eye surgery will provide you with a rapid recovery and minimal discomfort.
For those undergoing lens surgery such as refractive lens exchange or cataract surgery, the LenSx laser is used to precisely create the incisions required for surgery and divide your natural lens into smaller pieces, making it easier for your surgeon to remove, prior to inserting your implantable intra-ocular lens.
